About

Elbert has been photographing nature since he was about 12 year old. His parents and older brothers instilled and nurtured a deep interest in nature. He has traveled to destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America but finds at least as much inspiration in subjects close to home, quite often in his own garden. Main subjects are wildlife, landscapes, astro and macro.

His first serious camera was an Olympus OM10. From there he quickly moved on to Om2 camera’s. After one of these was stolen in Venezuela he switched to Nikon film cameras (Fe2, F810, F90, F100 & F5). Currently he uses a D800e and a D500 with lenses ranging in focal lenght from 14mm to 500mm (1.000mm with extenders). A particular favourite is the 200mm AF micro, This lens has been in use for more than 20 years and is still going strong.
